BIO:

Matt Gibson is an award-winning actor who sings and dances.  He’s performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, regionally, on tour, & on TV and film.  Click the “Resume & Reel” tab above for his most recent credits.

 

Now NYC-based, Matt is originally from RI and has dual citizenship in the US & Ireland.

TEACHING ARTIST/ MASTERCLASS INSTRUCTOR:

Matt's taught classes in audition technique, scene study, the business of acting, vocal performance, improv, tap, lyrical, theater dance, & song and dance for such organizations as NYU Tisch, Barrington Stage, Goodspeed Musicals, NYSTEA, Camp Broadway, Broadway Classroom, Disney Cruise Lines, From Stage and Screen, & R.Evolución Latina.

ENTERTAINMENT PROFESSIONAL:

Matt’s also worked as a director, associate director, choreographer, associate choreographer, dance captain, fight captain, swing, casting consultant, reader for auditions, judge for playwriting festivals, script developer, and audition coach.

TRAINING:

Matt earned his BFA in Drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying acting on stage & film. He double majored and also recieved an honors degree in journalism. More recently, he's studied film acting with Bob Krakower & Ted Sluberski, classical text performance with Ian Hersey of the Public Theatre, & vocal performance at Jen Waldman Studios.

AWARD-WINNING WRITER:

Matt has written 5 short films that have all been produced. 4 with On the Rocks Films & his most recent Dogmate with 

Bishops Gate Entertainment which is currently playing the festival circuit and has already earned 13 honors at 8 different festivals including 3 "Best Comedic Short" wins, 2 "Best Actor" nominations for Matt, and a non-exclusive distribution deal.

Films he’s worked on have been selected for more than 30 film festivals nationwide.
