BIO:

Matt Gibson is an award-winning actor with representation in NYC & London.  He’s performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, regionally (having performed more than 30 AEA principal roles), on tour (both within the US and internationally), & on TV and film. Matt is originally from RI and has dual citizenship in the US & Ireland (with the ability to work in the UK and EU).

ENTERTAINMENT PROFESSIONAL:

Matt’s also been employed as a director (On the Rocks Films), associate director (Playhouse on Park), choreographer (NYSTEA), associate choreographer (Carnegie Hall), dance captain (The Shed, Irish Rep, Barrington Stage, 5th Avenue, Maine State Music Theater, & Weston Playhouse), fight captain (Barrington Stage), swing (Broadway), casting consultant (New Haven Academy of Performing Arts), reader for auditions (Telsey & Co.), judge for playwriting festivals, judge and emcee for dance competitions (Platinum Dance & Dancers Inc), script developer (Tongue in Cheek productions), and audition & voice coach.

TEACHING ARTIST/ MASTERCLASS INSTRUCTOR:

Matt's taught classes in audition technique, scene study, monologues, the business of acting, vocal performance, improv, tap, lyrical, theater dance, and song & dance for such organizations as NYU Tisch, Barrington Stage, Goodspeed Musicals, NYSTEA, Camp Broadway, Broadway Classroom, New York Junior League, Disney Cruise Lines, Dancers Inc., From Stage and Screen, R.Evolución Latina, Royal Holloway University, and New Haven Academy of Performing Arts.

TRAINING:

Matt earned his BFA in Drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying acting on stage & film. He double majored and also recieved an honors degree in journalism. More recently, he's studied film acting with Bob Krakower & Ted Sluberski, classical text performance with Ian Hersey of the Public Theatre, & vocal performance at Andrew Byrne and Jen Waldman Studios.

AWARD-WINNING WRITER:

Matt's written five short films. His most recent Dogmate earned earned 14 honors at 9 different festivals including 4 "Best Comedic Short" wins and several acting awards. Check out this article about the film's success.  It can be streamed HERE.
